About

Welcome to Blue and Gray Day—1,789 minutes of friendly competition and camaraderie to make a difference for Georgetown!

Today, we showcase our Hoya pride and celebrate the traditions that make Georgetown exceptional.

Join with classmates and neighbors around the world, as we directly support thousands of Hoyas following in our footsteps.

At the end of the day, and thanks to a generous fellow Hoya, four scholarships will be awarded for the 2018-19 academic year. They will be named in honor of:

  • the class with the most donors
  • the region with the most donors
  • the class with the highest overall participation rate
  • the region with the highest overall participation rate

Frequently Asked Questions

Blue and Gray Day, which kicks off on March 20 at 6:11 p.m., is a chance to showcase our Hoya pride, build some friendly competition between our undergraduate alumni classes and regions, and make an impact on current and future students. Over the course of 1,789 minutes, classes and regions will challenge one another to support scholarships at Georgetown. At the end of the challenge, the class and the region with the highest percentage of alumni who have made a gift this fiscal year (since July 1), as well as the class and region with the highest number of donors making a gift during Blue and Gray Day, will have a scholarship named for them.

Visit blueandgrayday.georgetown.edu between 6:11 p.m. on March 20 and 11:59 p.m. on March 21 to make your gift of any size to help your class and region win Blue and Gray Day. This website will track gifts minute by minute and you will be able to see how your class and region are doing in real time. Just make your gift, encourage others to make their gifts, and watch the results roll in!

Blue and Gray Day will benefit the Georgetown Fund, which funds scholarships for Georgetown undergraduate students. Donors are also welcome to designate their gift to any university program they wish.

The eight regions selected have 1,000 or more undergraduate alumni living in their metropolitan area and represent the largest alumni markets for Georgetown. While your city or region may not be represented here, your gift will count toward your class participation goals for Blue and Gray Day and benefit our students!
