  • What is Blue and Gray Day?

    Blue and Gray Day kicks off this year on March 19 at 6:11 p.m. and lasts 1,789 minutes! The countdown is on as we are called to showcase our Hoya pride and make a difference for Georgetown. Engage in a bit of friendly competition between our classes and regions while making an impact on undergraduate students by supporting scholarships and other crucial programs.. At the end of the challenge, the class and region with the highest percentage of alumni who have made a gift this fiscal year (since July 1), as well as the class and region with the highest number of donors making a gift during Blue and Gray Day, will unlock crucial funding for Georgetown, given in their honor.

  • How do I participate?

    Visit this website between 6:11 p.m. on March 19 and 11:59 p.m. on March 20 to make your gift of any size to help your class and region win Blue and Gray Day. This website will track gifts minute by minute and you will be able to see how your class and region are doing in real time. Just make your gift, encourage others to make their gifts, and watch the results roll in!

  • Why these eight regions?

    The eight regions selected have 1,000 or more undergraduate alumni living in each metropolitan area and represent the largest alumni markets for Georgetown. While your city or region may not be represented on the regional leaderboard, you can put your state or country literally on the map when you make your gift! Our regional heat map represents participation from alumni across the globe based on billing addresses. Your gift also counts toward your class participation goals for Blue and Gray Day and impacts our current and future students.

  • Can I send a gift by mail or phone?

    Due to the tight time frame, only gifts made online or by phone during Blue and Gray Day will count toward the class and regional totals. If you would like to make a gift by phone, please contact the Office of Gift Administration at (202) 687-1690.

  • Will my Blue and Gray Day gift be tax deductible?

    Yes. Your gift is entirely tax deductible. You will receive an email confirmation and a tax receipt via mail from Georgetown University.

  • Whom do I talk to if I have questions about my gift?

    You can contact Georgetown’s Office of Gift Administration at (202) 687-1690 if you have any questions about making a gift or about your giving history.

  • Does my gift on Blue and Gray Day count as a gift to the Called to Be campaign?

    Yes! Your gift helps advance the goals of our new campaign. A gift of any size to any designation counts as both a gift for Blue and Gray Day and a gift in support of the Called to Be campaign.
